These agreements oblige foreign financial institutions to report information on accounts held by US citizens to the US tax authorities (IRS). In return, the IRS shares information about foreign citizens' accounts in the USA with the respective home countries. All EU countries have submitted to the requirements of FATCA in order to improve tax transparency and combat tax evasion.<\/p>\n<h2>US LLCs and business accounts are not affected!<\/h2>\n<p>US LLCs and business accounts of foreign citizens are not affected by the FATCA agreements, as these agreements only concern private accounts.
